Tireless Bad Boy mogul hits the road for marathon publicity tour.
Is "Diddy Day" Coming to Your Town?
Prior to the October 17th release of his new record, Press Play, Bad Boy Records kingpin Diddy will be trekking across America, drumming up the buzz, hosting listening parties, and even dishing out advice to high schoolers. For the good of the album, the humble rapper has even consented to a series of local events where he will be honored by mayors and given keys to cities. In select cities, the appearance will lead to an official proclamation of "Diddy Day."Other cities will instead be on the receiving end of "Diddy High," where the rapper will address crowds of high schoolers with speeches from a select group of topics, including "Empowerment," "No Excuses," and, of course, "Press Play On Your Life." At each stop along the way, Diddy will also be meeting and greeting an array of lucky winners of local radio station contests.
Those who can't see Diddy in person will have plenty -- plenty! -- of chances to catch him in the media. He'll be hosting a two-hour "Diddy Satellite Radio" session on September 19th, appearing on American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest, and popping in to an assortment of morning shows.
Things are already looking pretty good (again) for Diddy. His first single, "Come With Me," has vaulted into Billboard's Top 25 and is picking up steam on MTV and urban radio. Press Play features guest appearances by the likes of Big Boi, Nas, Timbaland, Christina Aguilera, and Jamie Foxx -- and production by Kanye West, Pharrell, and will.i.am.
