The "Bigger Bang" jinx dealt The Rolling Stones another blow over the weekend, as Mick Jagger learned that his father had died of pneumonia just hours before the band's sold-out show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

Rather than cancel yet another show in the Stones' trouble-plagued tour, Jagger insisted that the band go on. No comment was made on Joe Jagger's passing during the performance.

Just the previous day (November 10th), Jagger had flown back to England from the band's U.S. tour to visit his father, who was 93 years old and had been hospitalized after a fall on November 3rd. Reassured that his father's condition was improving despite complications from the pneumonia, Jagger flew back to the States for the Vegas show, only to learn of his father's death just a few hours after his return.

In a statement, Jagger thanked the hospital where Joe Jagger spent his final days "for their care and support." A statement on the band's website said private funeral arrangements would be made at a later date, and that no dates on the Bigger Bang tour would be affected.
