Lindsay, Appendix Part Ways

Among celebrity ingénues, Lindsay Lohan seems to the only one who spends as much time in the hospital as she does on the red carpet. Lohan's latest health scare, according to her publicist, was an emergency appendectomy, which was successfully performed yesterday (January 4th) at a Los Angeles-area hospital.

"She'll be recuperating for a few days, but then she will be totally fine," publicist Leslie Sloane-Zelnick assured E! Online.

This is the second year in a row that Lohan's gotten off to an unhealthy start. Last New Year's Eve, she was admitted to a Miami hospital after suffering a severe asthma attack. She was also hospitalized in 2006 for dehydration (in July, while shooting the film Georgia Rule), cutting her leg (in January, in London), and breaking her wrist (in September, outside a party in New York). Oh, yeah, and then there was the time doctors rushed to her hotel room at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood for undisclosed reasons (the National Enquirer said drug overdose; her reps said it was a false alarm).
