'80s pop-rock trio will open 49th annual awards show with first performance in four years.
Police Confirm Grammy Show Reunion
The rumors, it seems, are true -- at least partially. The Police have confirmed that they will reunite at the 49th annual Grammy Awards on February 11th. The trio, who last performed together in 2003 when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will open the Grammy show, which will be broadcast live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.Still unconfirmed, but widely expected to be announced at the Grammys or soon thereafter, is a full-blown reunion tour, which would be the band's first in 23 years.
According to Vancouver radio station CFMI, the band has been rehearsing at Lions Gate Studios in Vancouver.
