Rufus Wainwright Set to "Release the Stars"

On his official website, songwriter Rufus Wainwright reveals the details of his fifth album, Release the Stars, due out on May 15th (Geffen). This is the first self-produced record for the pop singer, with production assistance from Pet Shop Boys singer Neil Tennant, and features collaborations with Richard Thompson, Joan Wasser (of Antony and the Johnsons), and Welsh actress Siân Phillips.

Wainwright is the son of country-folk notable Loudon Wainwright III and brother to folk-pop singer Martha Wainwright. He will also make his live return at the Coachella Festival in April.
