Industrial rock pioneers reunite for Part Two - The Endless Not.
Throbbing Gristle to Release First New Album in 25 Years
Formed in 1975 and disbanded after just a handful albums in 1981, the British avant-garde band Throbbing Gristle left behind an infamous reputation for testing the limits of music, and created the blueprint for industrial music—although most industrial bands were never willing to follow TG's path into pure, ear-shredding noise experimentation. This is the band, after all, that reissued one of its own albums played entirely backwards, and was dubbed "the wreckers of civilization" by a horrified Member of Parliament. Now, the band's four original members—Chris Carter, Peter Christopherson, Genesis P. Orridge, and Cosey Fanni Tutti—are set to release their first studio album in over 25 years, Part Two - The Endless Not on Mute Records on April 3rd.
Part Two - The Endless Not is the band's first new album since 1980's Heathen Earth. A special limited-edition version of the CD will include one of a series of four different "TG Totemic Gifts" in either copper, bone, rubber, or wood, handmade under Peter Christopherson's supervision.
The tracklist is as follows:
Vow of Silence
Rabbit Snare
Separated
Almost A Kiss
Greasy Spoon
Lyre Liar
Above The Below
Endless Not
The Worm Waits Its Turn
After The Fall
