We're still uncertain whether this would be considered downgrading or upgrading, but vocalist Ian Astbury has quit as the replacement singer for Jim Morrison in a reunited Doors currently known as Riders on the Storm. Astbury plans on returning to his first band a reunited Cult, the popular hard rock band from the '80s.

"I have decided to move on and focus on my own music and legacy," Astbury said in a statement. "I have learned a great deal from the both of them"—referring to remaining Doors members Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger—"and it certainly has expanded my abilities as a performer."

Many Doors fans consider the Riders on the Storm a desecration of Morrison's memory, but nevertheless, Manzarek and Krieger plan on continuing their project just as soon as they find a new vocalist that can pull off a pair of snakeskin pants.
