Introducing New Label Dead Oceans
Two of independent rock's most formidable labels Secretly Canadian and Jagjaguwar have collaborated in forming a new subsidiary, Dead Oceans. SC and Jag are responsible for releasing key albums by Antony & the Johnsons and Okkervil River, respectively, and their newest offspring promises to be equally influential. In the coming year, the new label expects to release records by Evangelicals, Bishop Allen, Iran, and the Dirty Projectors, all buzz bands worthy of the impending attention. Dead Oceans will feature some of their new signings during a SXSW showcase. Specific release dates for albums are not yet scheduled.
