Colin Meloy and his band are set to recreate their catalogue with an orchestra.
The Decemberists to Perform at Hollywood Bowl
On June 7th, Portland, Oregon's literate rockers the Decemberists are scheduled to perform at the Hollywood Bowl, a landmark venue located in Hollywood, California. The band is currently reworking their catalogue to accommodate an orchestral arrangement, as they will be accompanied by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Band of Horses will open.Overall, this is looking like a significant year for the Decemberists. Their latest release, The Crane Wife, was their first record released on a major label (Capitol) after a series of releases on the independent label Kill Rock Stars. Also on March 30th, the band will release a DVD titled The Decemberists: A Practical Handbook, featuring the group's imaginative Kill Rock Stars videos, a documentary, and a live performance recorded in Portland, Oregon. --The ARTISTdirect Staff
