    Trent Reznor's pre-plot takes a bizarre twist.

Nine Inch Nails Threatens the Oscars?

Trent Reznor continues with his fascinating Year Zero "pre-plot" viral campaign, but this time, it comes eerily close to reality. According to Rollingstone.com, Reznor reportedly visited a Nine Inch Nails chatroom on the night of the Academy Awards and suggested that "someone should blow up the Oscars." Soon thereafter, a new website called Hollywoodinmemoriam.org launched, and it features some cryptic allusions to a dirty bomb destroying the 81st Academy Awards. That's two years from now.

With some investigating, you'll find that one of the "in memoriam" postings on the site reads, "For the cast & crew of Silence: it doesn't matter now but I work for PriceWaterhouseCooper and you would have won." Eerily enough, Silence is listed on the Internet Movie Database as a Martin Scorcese film to begin filming this summer. Coincidence or the demented mind of Trent Reznor? Unclear, but we do know that Year Zero's pre-plot has less than two months left to unfold before an April 17th release date (Interscope). --The ARTISTdirect Staff
