British music weekly NME slings more hyperbole on Klaxons
Klaxons Crowned Best New Band
British hype band du jour Klaxons was appointed Best New Band by NME, the weekly British music newspaper, at the annual NME Shockwaves Award ceremony. Klaxons won out over the other nominees in the category, the Fratellis, the Horrors, the Kooks, and the View.The band accepted the award with a brief acceptance speech: "Jeez, well, thank you so much. We are indeed a new band! But I'd like to mention how good Tim Burgess looks. Thanks to the View, too. Cheers."
