R. Kelly Teases Fans With “Double Up” Preview
Can't wait until May 29th to hear R. Kelly's new album, Double Up? And a few five-second previews are all you need to tide you over? Then you're in luck—the R&B master has set up a hotline (312-278-3965) that plays pre-recorded messages and then allows fans to hear five-second clips of several new tracks from the new album, which Kels describes as "about 70% hip-hop."The samples on display offer a testament to Kelly's star-studded studio entourage: "Rockstar" features Ludacris, the title track features Snoop Dogg, and "Hook It Up" features Kanye West. "I'm A Flirt," featuring T.I. and T-Pain, is currently inching its way up the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
"That should be your ringtone," Kelly instructs callers at the conclusion of "Leave Your Name," a track which, appropriately enough, is based on an answering machine.
