The Who Cancel Show After One Song
After tearing into the famous opening of "I Can't Explain" for 9,000 fans in Tampa, Florida, The Who abruptly canceled their performance altogether, later announcing that they were rescheduling for March 25th, and that all tickets for the first date would be honored—or refunded."I just talked to Roger and he can barely speak," guitarist Pete Townshend explained to the crowd a few minutes after the band's exit. "I tried to get him to come out here, but he's really, really sick." Lead singer Daltrey reportedly came down with a nasty case of bronchitis—an excuse that satisfied the crowd, who left peacefully.
