Phil Spector Jury Selection Begins
Juror selection began today for the murder trial of producer Phil Spector for the alleged homicide of actress Lana Clarkson. Clarkson was found dead of a gunshot wound to the face in Spector's home on February 3rd, 2003. In an email to friends, Spector initially claimed that the death was "an accidental suicide." Police discovered gunshot residue on both of Clarkson's hands, indicating that she may have pulled the trigger herself. But there is conflicting evidence suggesting otherwise.Opening statements will commence on April 30th. The judge has ruled that the trial can be televised—meaning, of course, that it almost certainly will be.
