Aaron Sorkin to Help Flaming Lips Hit Broadway

Remember when we mentioned that a Flaming Lips Broadway production was in the works? Well, it gets even stranger. In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, singer Wayne Coyne confirmed that the art-pop rockers will team up with TV producer and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin on developing the acclaimed album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots into a musical. Yes, that Aaron Sorkin—the man who created The West Wing and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Sorkin's reps also confirmed the collaboration. ''Maybe that means they'll need to build a stage with lots of hallways on it,'' Coyne joked. ''It will be a giant tube that's always moving!''

There are no more details regarding the play's debut or who will star in it, but considering this is all in the development stages, we're assuming it's still a while off. Nevertheless, we'll be there when tickets go on sale.
