Isaac Brock's band makes a not-so-modest entry into the Billboard charts
Modest Mouse Scores a #1 Album
Modest Mouse achieves its first #1 album on the Billboard charts with We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank. The follow-up to 2005's Good News For People Who Love Bad News (which only debuted at #19) sold 129,000 copies in its first week of domestic sales. The debut single off the record is "Dashboard."We think seeing Modest Mouse as a #1 on the charts is a pretty impressive accomplishment, especially considering that more hyped releases by Montreal's Arcade Fire and fellow Pacific Northwesterners the Shins only managed to reach the #2 position.
