You can take The O.C. off the air, but you can't take away the music!
America's Favorite Music Supervisor Starts a Record Label
Death Cab For Cutie. Snow Patrol. The Fray. These are just some of the bands that Alexandra Patsavas helped popularize as music supervisor for The O.C. and Grey's Anatomy. The influential Californian is now launching her own label, Chop Shop Records, which shares the name of her decade-old firm, Chop Shop Music Supervision. There are no acts signed to the label yet, which will operate as an imprint of Atlantic Records under the umbrella of the Warner Music Group. It will be interesting to see how Patsavas avoids potential conflicts of interests here. Isn't it natural for her to recommend her own artists for inclusion on the soundtracks she and her firm consult on? Regardless, we wonder whether this music Midas can maintain her golden touch without the assistance of a Seth Cohen or Meredith Grey.
