Concerts to be held around the world on July 7th
Kanye, Akon, Madonna, Black Eyed Peas on Board for Live Earth
In an effort to raise awareness about global warming, a series of Live Earth concerts will be held on July 7th—with some serious star power taking stages around the world. At the U.S. concert at Giants Stadium in New Jersey, Kanye West and Fall Out Boy will be joined by Akon, the Smashing Pumpkins, Rihanna, Dave Matthews Band, Bon Jovi, and John Mayer.At London's Wembley Stadium, Madonna and the Black Eyed Peas will be appearing alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, Keane, Foo Fighters, and more.
"This monster lineup will ensure Live Earth meets our goal of bringing together people from around the world to combat the climate crisis," said Live Earth founder and executive producer Kevin Wall.
Concerts will also take place in Shanghai, Johannesburg, Sydney, Tokyo, and Rio de Janeiro.
