White Stripes Finalize "Icky Thump" Release Date
The White Stripes have announced the release dates for Icky Thump, one of the year's most-anticipated albums. European crowds will be able to get their hands on the record on June 18th, when it comes out via XL Recordings; fans in North America, Japan and Southeast Asia will have to wait until June 19th for a release on Warner Bros. Records.The cover art for Icky Thump has also been released, and finds the duo deviating from their traditional red-and-white color scheme for a black-and-white photo. In an early preview of the album, Billboard reported that Icky Thump incorporates a wide range of styles, including rock, tango, and a spoken-word prayer.
