The Raconteurs Begin Work on Sophomore Release
The Raconteurs are already in Nashville, TN recording the follow-up to last year's Broken Boy Soldiers. The band—which features Jack White, Brendan Benson, and two members of the Greenhornes—anticipates an early 2008 release.White recently told Billboard.com that the band has already written 12 songs. "We don't know if were going to finish but we wanted to get everything down before we got busy," White said of the three-week recording session currently in progress. "We have a lot bigger ideas about certain things, so we will see how far we get." The band promises a "very different" sound for the sophomore record.
In the meantime, since the implosion of their previous home, V2 Records, the Raconteurs are without a label.
