The U.K. and Australia are feeling a real cultural dearth
Snoop Denied Entry into Australia, Preps New Album
After a recent U.K. visa denial, rapper Snoop Dogg is attempting to collect rejections from all over the world. Deemed "not of good character," Snoop is no longer welcome in Australia either, which prevents him from appearing at the Australian MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday."The reality is... he has a whole string of convictions," said the Australian immigration minister Kevin Andrews, "And just two weeks ago I was told he was convicted on a number of charges again and sentenced to three years imprisonment on two, and three years imprisonment on another, with five years probation and a suspended sentence."
"MTV executives are cooperating fully with immigration officials to respond to the cancellation of his visa and remain hopeful he will be permitted to enter the country to attend Sunday's MTV Australia Video Music Awards as scheduled," said an MTV representative. Snoop has 28 days to appeal the visa denial and provide sufficient explanation as to why he should be allowed back into Australia.
In other Snoop news, the hip-hop character has already begun work on his next album tentatively titled Ego Trippin'. The rapper insists that the record will be a legit solo affair. "I'mma do the whole record, me by myself. I don't want no guest rappers, no singer, nothing. Just Snoop Dogg. I want you to feel me."
