Metric and Singer Emily Haines Announce New Releases

Metric is already in the planning stages for the follow-up to 2005's Live It Out and anticipates that they will finish their fourth release by October. In the meantime, Last Gang Records will finally release Metric's first album Grow Up and Blow Away on June 12. The debut was never distributed after a label restructuring left it in limbo; this will be the first time it's made available to the public.

The group's singer Emily Haines will also release an EP with her backing band the Soft Skeleton on July 24, titled What Is Free to a Good Home. The five-song release will feature unreleased tracks from the recording sessions for Haines' solo debut Knives Don't Have Your Back, as well as a remix track of "Mostly Waving."
