Country Music Awards Honor Underwood, Paisley

The annual Academy of Country Music Awards took place last night in Las Vegas, NV where they honored the year's best in country. Newcomer and former American Idol contestant Carrie Underwood was among the top winners, as she was awarded with album of the year and video of the year. Brooks & Dunn also won their fair share of awards by talong home a statue for top vocal duo award, the Home Depot Humanitarian Award, and vocal collaboration award for the song "Building Bridges."

Brad Paisley was the underdog choice for top male vocalist. Nevertheless, the country singer took home the award. Rascal Flatts, the superstar country duo, was up for six nominations but only took home the top vocal group award. All the winners of last night's ceremony are listed on the CMA website.
