Elijah Wood Cast as Iggy Pop
In one of the oddest casting choices we've seen in a while, Variety reports that Elijah Wood will play Iggy Pop in a biopic of the punk icon. The movie, titled The Passenger, will focus primarily on Pop's earlier years as the front man of the Stooges and will be directed by Nick Gomez. The Passenger will be out in mid-summer 2008 with a blessing from Iggy himself, although he will not be involved in any capacity with the film.—The ARTISTdirect Staff
