Trent Reznor Bashes His Record Label

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor isn’t happy about how his label, Universal Music Group, has been handling his new album, Year Zero, in Australia. He was upset by his label’s inability to understand his unique digital marketing campaign for the album, and was especially outraged by the revelation that his album was being priced at $35 Australian (approximately $29 U.S.).

"Shame on you, UMG," Reznor posted on his band website, later referring to the label reps as "thieves" who took advantage of the fact that Nine Inch Nails have a devoted fanbase willing to pay high prices for new material.

"I have one record left that I owe a major label, then I will never be seen in a situation like this again," Reznor promised.
