The band promises 2008 will be the year of The Strokes once again
The Strokes Take A Year Off
According to a bulletin on their official MySpace page, The Strokes have announced that they will take the year off from any further band activity. The posting read, "The band are still enjoying some much needed 'off time'. I wouldn't expect anything to come out this year.""In the meantime," the post continued, "they are staying busy pursuing some other personal interests and are busy working/writing/rehearsing and all those things bands do in between albums. But, there are no immediate plans to release an album or tour for the time being."
During the hiatus, guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. will continue touring behind his solo debut Yours To Keep, while singer Julian Casablancas loans guest vocals on the forthcmoming Queens of the Stone Age album Era Vulgaris.
