Will Steven Tyler Leave Aerosmith?

The New York Post reports this morning that Steven Tyler, the literally big-mouthed lead singer of Aerosmith, is contemplating his departure from the legendary rock band. The Page Six column reveals that the singer's daughter and actress Liv Tyler is telling friends that "her dad is going to announce he's leaving Aerosmith soon because he can't take how the rest of the band is treating him." The inside tip also alleges that the band's other four members "don't appreciate him." Liv Tyler's representative reports that she is not spreading this rumor.

Aerosmith is currently putting the final touches on its studio follow-up to 2004's Honkin' on Bobo. But could the band survive if Tyler did in fact quit? AC/DC, Van Halen and many other bands have done it before them, and perhaps a newer and younger front man could give the bluesy rock icons a much needed pump.
