Super Furry Animals Announce New Record, Tour
It seems that the Super Furry Animals are super busy these days. The Welsh psych-pop collective announced that they have completed work on a new album titled Hey Venus!, a follow-up to 2005's Love Kraft, which sees an August 27 release date via Rough Trade Records. But additionally, lead singer Gruff Rhys reveals that he'll be involved in two summer tours, both in the capacity of front man and as a solo musician. Rhys will tour with the Furries in anticipation of the group's forthcoming release and perform sans-Animals intermittently throughout the tour in promotion of his debut solo record, Candylion. As if that wasn't enough SFA to keep everyone happy, band member Guto Pryce has also compiled a collection of reggae and dub tracks from the Trojan Records label. Titled Furry Selection: Luxury Cuts of Trojan Chosen by a Super Furry Animal, the comp was released on May 28.
