Andre 3000 to Play Sammy Davis Jr.

According to a report in the New York Times, Andre 3000, one-half of the hip-hop duo Outkast, is set to play Sammy Davis, Jr. in an upcoming biopic. The movie, titled Sammy and Kim, focuses on the Candy Man's relationship with the famed Vertigo actress Kim Novak in the 1950s.

Director Earle Sebastian will spearhead the project, depicting the heartbreak and the controversy behind the groundbreaking relationship, which ended at the insistence of Columbia Pictures where Novak was under contract. No release date has been set.
