    Daft Punk Film Finds Distribution

The mysterious robotic duo releases stoner fodder

Daft Punk's full-length feature Electroma has finally secured a release date nearly two years after its completion. The silent film, which premiered at Cannes, is "an odyssey of two robots (played by Peter Hurteau and Michael Reich) who journey across a mythic American landscape of haunting, surreal beauty on a quest to become human," according to a press release. "Their symbolic quest, which takes them from endless two lane highways to small idyllic towns to the arid desert, finds Daft Punk once again resisting conformity and developing new ways to highlight their inventive vision." Sounds rife for late-night viewing in college dorms everywhere.

The electronic duo Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo recently completed a distributions deal with Brooklyn's Vice Records, who will release the DVD this fall. Daft Punk will also debut the movie at select North American screenings this summer.

    These are the screening dates:

    6/14/07 Toronto, ON - Xpace @ Midnight
6/28/07 Calgary, AB - Stride Gallery (Sled Island Festival)
6/29/07 Los Angeles, CA - New Beverly Cinema
    7/28/07 Miami, FL - Studio A
9/8/07 Montreal, QC - Osheaga Festival
9/9/07 Montreal, QC - Osheaga Festival
