White Stripes to Perform in Intimate Venues

Preceding their summer arena tour, The White Stripes will perform new songs from the June 19 release Icky Thump to smaller and more intimate audiences in New York and Los Angeles. On June 17, two days before the album's release and immediately after their performance at the Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee, Meg and Jack White will play live at New York's Fillmore at Irving Place. Tickets for the show went on sale this morning and in an effort to thwart scalpers, the physical tickets will not be released until 8pm the night of the show.

The Stripes will then perform in Los Angeles on June 20 at the former site of Tower Records on the Sunset Strip, which has been transformed into an Icky Thump record store. The duo will perform for the first 200 fans that buy the album at that designated area, beginning at midnight on Monday night/Tuesday morning.
