Who needs the man when the man won't sell records?
The Donnas Leave Their Major Label
Who needs a major label? Not The Donnas, who have steadily built a devoted fanbase thanks to their relentless touring and hard-rock sound. The female foursome have announced their willing departure from Atlantic Records due to the poor promotion of 2004's Gold Medal, which only saw a fraction of the record sales of 2002's Spend the Night. Despite the major change in the Donnas' career, they are touring throughout the fall, with only a few dates scheduled so far. The California girls will release their as-yet-untitled sixth studio album in September on their own label, and have already posted a new song, "Don't Wait Up for Me," on their MySpace page.—The ARTISTdirect Staff
