The throaty singer teams up with the avant-garde string quartet for a good cause
Tom Waits Releases Live Concert with Kronos Quartet
Tom Waits, in cooperation with the Kronos Quartet, will release a recording of their special September 21, 2003 live partnership benefiting Healing the Divide, a nonprofit dedicated to humanitarian crises. A single from the record, "Diamond in Your Mind," will be released beforehand on June 26.Waits said about the collaboration, "Working with the Kronos Quartet was like firing a .38 Special with a clam shell holster: beauty meets brains." Healing the Divide: A Concert for Peace and Reconciliation is out on July 10 via the Anti- label.
