"Hannah Montana" Charts Higher Than Kelly Clarkson

We don't know what's worse: the fact that Kelly Clarkson lost out on the Billboard charts to a Disney character, or the fact that the Disney character is played by the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus, he of "Achy Breaky Heart" fame. Miley Cyrus' popular Hannah Montana character released her second soundtrack CD, titled Hannah Montana 2/ Meet Miley Cyrus, which went on to sell 326,000 units in its first week. Meanwhile, Clarkson, who was technically created by television as well, sold 291,000 of her sophomore release, My December, putting her at No. 2. Surprisingly, this is an improvement for Clarkson—her last release, Breakaway, debuted at No. 3.
