Gogol Bordello Singer to Star in Madonna Film

The Material Girl is reinventing herself yet again, this time as a director. Madonna has revealed that she is working on a 45-minute short film titled Filth & Wisdom, starring Richard E. Grant and Stephen Graham. And in an unusual casting choice, Madge has personally asked Gogol Bordello frontman Eugene Hutz to star in the short as well.

"I think [Madonna] was fantastic," Hutz told Billboard. "She's such a dynamic force. You can always measure a director by how specific he is or she is, and she was very specific."

"She had very energetic visions, but at the same time there was a lot of room for me to do my own thing," the gypsy punk added. "It was super fun and perfectly respectable, and it ended up being quite a collaborative project." The film is expected to debut at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.
