Lil Jon Returns With Rock Record

So, you think Lil Jon's crunk sound has already used up its 15 minutes of fame? Well, here comes minute 16. The animated producer/rapper is nearing completion on the forthcoming Crunk Rock due out by the end of the year. Jon promises a notable cameo roster including P.O.D., Kid Rock, Ciara, Ice Cube and R. Kelly, and that means we have to listen.

"I worked with the guitar player from P.O.D., Marcos, a punk band called Whole Wheat Bread from Jacksonville, Fla., Kid Rock and a few others," Lil Jon told Billboard.com. "My shit is real rock guitars with my beats, not keyboard guitars with ghetto beats. It's gonna be a little different from what you hear right now, but I think everyone will love it."

Lil Jon extrapolated on why he's heading in the rock genre direction. "I've been doing crunk rock for the past two years," he added. "I did a street record with Three 6 Mafia in October where I say 'Party like a rock star, fuck like a porn star.' Now everybody wants to be a rock star 'cause it's cool."
