For $7.3 million, this better be a really good book

Publishing House Secures Keith Richards Memoir

After we reported a few weeks back about a bidding war over Keith Richards memoir, we've discovered the guitarist for the Rolling Stones will make a reported $$7.3 million for the book. Publishing house Little, Brown, and Company has secured the right to publish the chronicles of Richards' debauched rock and roll life. "It will be his life's story," said Little, Brown publisher Michael Pietsch. "For nearly 50 years, he has been at the very center of the vortex of stardom and of entertainment as a cultural force. He's a thread running through the whole thing."

Pietsch also revealed that the book will be co-written by James Fox, a writer friend of Richards. "Keith is working with someone who has been a friend and is an extremely skilled writer. I know that James has also been talking with people close to Keith. The range and type of stories was exactly what you would hope to hear," Pietsch added. "The memories and the emotions, people wonder if he remembers anything, but I wish my memory was that good." Maybe all that excess actually improves the brain.
