Massachusetts-based label Rounder Records announced that they will be releasing an unlikely collaboration between bluegrass singer Alison Krauss and former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant this Ocober 23. Raising Sand, their collaborative album, was recorded in both Nashville, TN and Los Angeles, CA and was produced by T Bone Burnett.
The two vocalists chose to tackle covers of blues, R&B, country and folk songs from various artists, including Tom Waits and Townes Van Zandt. "You've got two singers that can handle a wide range of material...storytellers," Burnett said. "So you look for the stories."
