Danger Mouse is totally jealous
Wu Tang Clan Gets Clearance To Sample The Beatles
Even though The Beatles' estate is especially wary of allowing their music to be sampled, Wu Tang Clan seems to be at the top of their persuasive game. Rapper and Wu member RZA told Rolling Stone that the forthcoming record 8 Diagrams will feature a song with the familiar title "Gently Weeps."The track will boast a sample of the George Harrison-penned "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." To add an element of authenticity, the track will feature guitar work from John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Dhani Harrison, George's son.
"He's the biggest Wu-Tang fan in the world," RZA said about the Harrison son. "He knew all the kung fu s*** [we reference]! That's deep! I told him I would be honored if he played his father's song."
