The band's live absence only made their return stronger

Daft Punk To Release Live Album

Billboard reports that Daft Punk will release a live album of their recent June 14 performance in Paris, France. This was the duo's first live show in their hometown in nearly ten years. Capitol Records revealed that they will release the CD as a single disc edition as well as a two-disc set which will include the show's encore. Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter told Billboard that that evening was special for both the Punks and the audience.

They will also offer a single for a live version of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" with a video directed by Oliver Gondry, featuring user generated footage by fans and attendees of the Brooklyn show the duo played last Thursday. The song is especially relevant right now considering Kanye West samples the famous, robotic hook in his current hit single "Stronger."

"The DJ had made an edit of our song at the beginning and then it turned into his song," Bangalter's partner Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo said. "Our song had a good sound, but when he put Kanye's record on, the sound was really fat. It sounds really big. It's not a collaboration in the studio, but the vibe of the music we do separately connected in what he did with the song."
