Meg cites health issues as a deterrent for traveling
The White Stripes Cancel Remainder U.S. Tour
The White Stripes are canceling the remaining dates on their American itinerary consisting of sixteen dates, including the Austin City Limits festival. The band made an official announcement on their website that the cancellations are a result of drummer Meg White's acute anxiety and her inability to cope with travel.The post continues, "The White Stripes sincerely apologize to their fans. We hate to let people down and are very sorry." As of now, there are no make-up dates scheduled, but fans can obtain a full refund from their place of purchase.
Austin City Limits promoters have confirmed that Muse will replace the White Stripes' festival slot. In other ACL news, indie darling St. Vincent has also been added to the festival bill.
