    And signs, um, himself

    Perry Farrell Starts Independent Label

Fighting for relevance with all his might, Perry Farrell has announced plans to start a new record label named Bells Are Ringing. The first release will be the debut from Farrell's band Satellite Party. The record, Ultra Payloaded, was originally released by Columbia last May to mixed reviews, but now the eccentric singer takes back control. "I'm very excited to become part of this new independent trend where artists will have more creative freedom," Farrell explained about the new venture, "[And] make higher profits on the sales of their music and most of all it allows me, the artist, to own my art, my masters."

Satellite Party is currently on tour throughout North America but not without a hitch or two. Nuno Bettencourt, formerly of Extreme, the co-writer and co-producer of the band's debut, left the tour just a few days in. Bettencourt issued a statement saying that he has, "always felt uncomfortable with the direction of the lineup and live show." Sounds awkward.

    These are the tour dates:

9/21 - Ridgefield, WA - Amphitheatre at Clark County (KNRK Show)
