Alice in Chains Unplug On New Tour Dates

    Fri, 21 Sep 2007 10:57:43

Still grunge after all these years

Grunge trailblazers Alice in Chains are currently on tour with Velvet Revolver, rocking arenas like it's 1992. In an effort to continue rolling back the hands of time, the band is branching out on their own for a set of unplugged "Acoustic Hour" dates. The lineup will feature Jerry Cantrell, Sean Kinney and Mike Inez, all of whom first appeared with the band during their '90s heyday. Stepping in to replace fallen frontman Layne Stanley is new lead singer William DuVall, formerly of Comes With The Fall.

Alice in Chains are said to be working on a new album, as stated on their website, with a possible release set for late this year or early 2008. It would mark their first collection of new material since 1995. Considering their current tour mates, being backstage in 1995 probably didn’t look much different than it does now.

These are the "Acoustic Hour" dates:

    9/29 - Austin, TX - Antone's
10/1 - New Orleans, LA - House of Blues
    10/12 - Jacksonville, FL - Plush
10/13 - Myrtle Beach, SC - House of Blues
    10/15 - Norfolk, VA - The NorVa
10/16 - Asheville, NC - Thomas Wolfe Auditorium
    10/17 - Nashville, TN - Ryman Auditorium
    10/19 - Tulsa, OK - Cain's Ballroom
10/20 - Columbia, MO - The Blue Note
