Denmark Street, in the Soho area of central London, traces its musical connections back to the 1890s and is famous for its connection to contemporary British music after recording studios started setting up there in the 1960s. Many world-renowned recording artists, including: Jimi Hendrix, The Sex Pistols and Elton John have played and recorded in the street. The Rolling Stones recorded their first album in 1964 at the street's Regent Sounds Studio's. Known as London's 'Tin Pan Alley' Denmark Street is regarded as one of, if not the, best music streets in Europe and contains numerous specialist music shops, with many boasting of a long and prestigious musical history.

The Sex Pistols have reunited to re-record a version of their classic punk anthem "Anarchy in the U.K." for the video game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. This landmark occasion was the first time that surviving members John Lydon, Steve Jones and Paul Cook performed together in a studio in over thirty years. "I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but it actually turned out great and I think everyone held their own," guitarist Jones said. "I like it [Guitar Hero] because my friends' kids like it. And I like what kids like."

As we reported earlier, the band will also reunite for a one-off gig on November 8 at London's Brixton Academy. The show will be sponsored by—you guessed it—Guitar Hero III.
