Marshall unleashes her seductive charm on the classics
Cat Power To Release Second Covers Album
Cat Power's label, Matador Records, confirms that the artist, born Chan Marshall, will release a second album of cover songs on January 22, 2008. This as-of-yet untitled record will be the second installment of her distinctive homage to classic songs, the first being 2000's The Covers Record.Marshall will also reunite and perform with her backing band The Dirty Delta Blues, the troupe she used to exquisite success on her most recent album, The Greatest. Billboard.com states that the record will yet again include covers of Bob Dylan, Velvet Underground and Rolling Stones songs, just as on The Covers Record.
