It's one thing to be With the Band, but it's a lot cooler to be Making Records

Producer Phil Ramone Writes Rock Memoir

Several rockers (or rockers wives, like George Harrison-ex Patti Boyd) have released autobiographies and memoirs of late, but none have boasted the entourage and insight that one will find in Phil Ramone's Making Records: The Scenes Behind The Music. The 32-time Grammy award winner and famed producer has written a story chronicling his collaborations with rock's legends, like Paul McCartney and Paul Simon.

His book covers his work on Bob Dylan's Blood on the Tracks, Ray Charles' Genius Loves Company and Billy Joel's The Stranger to name a few. The memoir-cum-exploration of the recording process spotlights the life of a producer and band, but also acts as a guide to the ins and outs of the music industry. It is set to be released on October 16 through Hyperion Books.
