    Peter Gabriel ponders jackhammer-led response

Genesis Returns to Roots On Live CD

While the idea of Phil Collins singing "Carpet Crawlers" and "Firth of Fifth" may still sound like sacrilege to some, that hasn't kept a recently-reunited Genesis from incorporating some long forgotten Peter Gabriel-era tunes into its Live Over Europe set. The live double disc—due out November 20 on Atlantic—also includes such key Collins cuts as "Turn It On Again," "Follow You Follow Me," "Invisible Touch," "No Son of Mine" and "Land of Confusion," as well as diehard fan favorites such as "Home By the Sea," "Ripples" and the two-part instrumental track "Duke's Intro." Oh, and a double (!) drum solo of spastic rim shots from Collins and Chester Thompson.

The first leg of Genesis' reunion tour ended on October 14 in Los Angeles. A deluxe, 12-disc box set of the band's 1983-1998 output is also hitting the streets on November 20 through Rhino.
