Oasis Reveal "Groovy" New Album Details

With the release of their first tour DVD, Lord, Don't Slow Me Down, it's no surprise Oasis have some new album news for their eager fans, as well. Noel Gallagher recently spoke to BBC's 6 Music and divulged that the band are ditching the "songy" tunes of their latest (and some would say greatest since What's the Story (Morning Glory)?) album, 2005's Don't Believe the Truth, in favor of focusing on the "grooves."

Talking to 6 Music, Noel said, "We've been focusing 'round the grooves more this time...I've been revisiting some of my more psychedelic trips of a younger man, because I remember them all you see..." Noel also lamented, "I've literally got nothing left to write about: I've wrote about being a youth, and I've wrote about being a rock star." Hmm... here's hoping Oasis don't go all Flaming Lips on us. On second thought...

No tracklisting or release info have been announced, but expect to see Oasis' seventh studio album hit shelves sometime in 2008.
