Queens of the Stone Age Play Salt Mine, Add Tour Dates
Now that they've wrapped up a U.S. tour in support of Era Vulgaris, Queens of the Stone Age have already set their sites on a European trek that includes one incredibly bizarre stop: an unplugged performance in a salt mine one mile beneath Sondershausen, Germany. Set for November 20, the show is only open to worldwide contest winnersa lucky lot that'll get to hear many QOTSA tracks that haven't been played live before. Whether this will include covers of Billy Idol's "White Wedding" or Brian Eno's "Needles in a Camel's Eye" remains to be seen, although both tracks will soon turn up on a digital EP and limited 7-inches tied to the single "Make It Wit Chu" (out November 26).As for stateside fans that missed the entire Era Vulgaris run, QOTSA will be back for a handful of dates in December, including gigs with Mastodon on the 17, 18 and 20.
