Photo Recap: The Hives - Avalon - Hollywood, CA

Sweden's The Hives took a break from their tour with mainstream-pop playboys, Maroon 5, to play a sold-out show at Hollywood's the Avalon last night, giving their fans a mainline injection of their high-voltage, kitschy play on punk rock. Touring in support of their third studio album, The Black and White Album, Los Angeles welcomed their explosively energetic live show with open arms—in the shape of the ubiquitous rock'n'roll horns. Howlin' Pelle Almqvist—known for being particularly animated—did not disappoint, and his inner-Mick Jagger-meets-Iggy Pop was out to play.
